Top States for Saving Money with Rooftop Solar

Which States Offer the Biggest Savings with Rooftop Solar? Payless Power Analyzes the Data:

Wondering where you can save the most with rooftop solar? Payless Power recently delved into the numbers to uncover the top states for solar savings. Here are the findings:

  1. Hawaii: $2,360
  2. Connecticut: $1,734
  3. Florida: $1,668
  4. Alabama: $1,638
  5. Georgia: $1,578
  6. New Hampshire: $1,563
  7. Tennessee: $1,553
  8. Louisiana: $1,538
  9. Massachusetts: $1,534
  10. Maryland: $1,522

Any savings are welcome, but crossing the $1,000 per year mark is truly impressive. Saving over $1,000 annually while contributing to environmental causes is even better.

Interestingly, the states with the highest solar installations don't always align with the biggest savings. While California, Nevada, and Massachusetts lead in solar electricity generation, Nevada and Hawaii stand out for their per capita solar panel installations. Conversely, North Dakota and West Virginia have the fewest solar-powered homes per capita.

Even in states with lower solar savings like New Mexico and Wyoming, yearly electricity bill savings are substantial. However, the initial investment in solar panels and installation remains a consideration. Payless Power's analysis focuses on estimated payback time or return on investment (ROI). States like Florida and Hawaii boast estimated payback times of just over 10 to 14 years, offering significant long-term savings.
